Experience committed of the department staff proupedeutics of Internal Medicine touching problems gastroenterology, rheumatology, cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology. Today primary attention focuses on the problems of diagnostics and treatment of respiratory diseases, hepato-biliary system to due a significant increase morbidity on this pathologists in the world, also rheumatic diseases and the cardiovascular system.

At the same time studied the problem of interraption of bone mineral density and level endotoxemia in diseases pancreato-duodenal zone, the impact on the structure and function of the liver Anti-helicobacter therapy in chronic gastritis B and peptic ulcer disease, clinical and pathogenetic features and therapy of gout and osteoarthritis in the background accompanying chronic hepatitis, obstructive lung diseases. At the department has worked Lototskaya Svetlana and Zenoviy Skirak. Under the guidance of prof. S. M. Andreychyn performed dissertations "Violation binding function of serum albumin in toxic hepatitis", "The role of endotoxemia in clinical manifestations and pathogenesis of COPD in patients of all ages and efficiency enterosorption therapy and"effect of Anti-helicobacter therapy for peptic ulcer and chronic gastritis B on the structure and function of the liver.

In the scientific work of department will be involved gifted students through the implementation of their opportunities in student academic circle, and will be continued training of the teaching staff (doctors and candidates of medical sciences).

In the last years, the department conducted scientific research that is dedicated on the problems of pulmonary bleeding and haemoptysis in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (I.T. P'yatnochka, L.A. Grischuk,S.I. Kornaha) problems osteoporosis study, the cardiovascular system in these patients.
